You're getting older, you need your freedom and independence. Walking's a great way to achieve it. You don't want to be relying on 'mum's taxi' so much - you've got places to go, people to see, and your own life to lead. Maybe it's time to Step Up?
Being a young person today is stressful . With schoolwork, exams, relationships, parents and teachers, you've got a lot to deal with. Sometimes it's good to take some time out. Walking allows you to get some time to yourself , away from the stresses of school and home. You can even listen to your music while you walk
Walking with friends gives you time to chat and catch up on all the news. Your school journey could be the social event of the day!
This website is all about what walking can do for you, and how you can spread the word to your friends. If you dont walk already, we are challenging you to Step Up, and walk for 15 minutes twice a day. If you live too far, maybe you could ditch the car or bus for the last 15 minutes. Try it a couple of times and see what walking can do for you.
If you live less than a couple of kilometres from school, chances are you already walk. Thank you! But could your walk be nicer? Maybe the path is covered in dog mess, or there's nowhere to store your bags once you get to school. Why not Step Up and start a campaign to make your walk better?
